Valentines Day is fast approaching and the high-street is full of beautiful collections! I'm obsessed with cute bralettes and anything lacy, so I thought I'd take you through my favourite pieces in the shops this year. I don't own most of these sets so I can't say anything on comfort or fit, I'm simply basing it off looks. I've also only included styles I'd wear or like as it's my personal high street favs.
H&M
For me, H&M is a go to when I'm looking for new underwear. They're doing it all right: cute things, fun pieces, comfy and sexy pieces. This year they have got it perfect! Out of all the shops I've scrolled through H&M had the best bits. Here's what I liked best:
Bralette £12.99
Thong £6.99
Okay this bralette and thong combination is to die for! It's sexy and youthful but for me the best bit is the bow details; these add an interesting edge to the lingerie, making them more than just a red, lacy bra and thong. The price of both combined is £19.98, which I think is very reasonable considering you couldn't get one nice bra for that at Victoria Secret!
Bralette £5.00, Brazilian £3.00 (both in sale)
This next set is one of the most fun, edgy and contemporary lingerie sets I've ever seen. Which is why I had to buy it. I mean it was only £8 combined for the most gorgeous set I've picked up in a long time. The colour combinations are beautiful, what you can't see in the photo is that the lace on the Brazilian is actually a vibrant lilac which perfectly clashes with the bright red. It's also comfy, so 10/10.
Body £19.99
This is slightly pricier but it is certainly a gorgeous piece, like the previous red set it has bow detailing which gives the body a interesting, delicate finish. Price wise it is a bit more. However, you can use it as more than just a bra, under a pair of black mum jeans with some cute heels and a clutch this lingerie piece is transformed into a sexy evening look.
New Look
I nearly didn't even bother looking at New Look's website as I thought their lingerie section would be more childish, however, I was completely wrong. They had a lot of gorgeous, fun and sexy pieces in their collection, including these two gems.
Set £14.99
This has to be the biggest bargain out of everything I've picked out. A whole set for under £15 is unreal! To top it all of, this set is gorgeous. Understandably, pink and frilly isn't everyone's cup of tea but I think this set is jaw-dropping and if I hadn't promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore bralettes, I would be purchasing this elegant set right this minute.
Bra £12.99, Thong £5.99
Again, both these pieces are really reasonable prices. This set is slightly more cheesy than cheeky but I couldn't not include it in the post because it has a playful charm to it. After all, when is there a better time to have embroidered hearts on your thong than Valentines Day?
I have to be honest, scrolling through the Topshop lingerie section I felt slightly let down. It was all very safe and generic. There was nothing that stood out to me or shouted out as 'the piece'. However, going through the sale section I did find two pieces that had some interesting designs.
Kendal + Kylie Bralette £10 (in the sale)
This bralette stood out to me for two reasons. The neckline isn't used often and the zip detail adds a bit of intrigue. Both of these features gave the classic black lace bra a modern twist, making it more fun and memorable. At £10 down from £42.00 you certainly can't grumble and, in my opinion, it looks pretty comfy.
Body £16 (in sale)
This is the kind of piece I expected to find scattered all over the Topshop website, it's fun and minimal with a gorgeous finish. Like the H&M bodysuit this could be styled in so many ways, not just as a beautiful piece of lingerie. The see through black mesh is cheeky and playful and the stars are delicate and dainty, it's a perfect combination.
Urban Outfitters do everything right but their lingerie section is just perfection. Whether you're looking for a comfy CK sports bra or a lacy bralette, they'll have the best option. The only downside to their gorgeous pieces is the price!
Bra £22.00
This bra isn't necessarily the conventional 'sexy' bra but I think it is gorgeous. The fit is really lovely and the pattern is bright and youthful, paired with some red high-waisted pants like in the photo you're good to go. Obviously £22 for a bralette seems quite a lot when you could just go to Primark but I don't think this beautiful bra would disappoint.
Bra £29.00 (sale), Thong £6.00
Combined, this set costs £35.00 which is the priciest on my list however, I think this minimal design and pattern is perfect for valentines day. The lip pattern is really adorable and the bright red is fun and playful. The actual bra looks supportive and comfy and you can't grumble at the price of the matching thong. It's a set made in lingerie heaven.
So that's it! My favourite pieces on the high-street. You might notice that I haven't included all the shops and that's simply because I couldn't find things I really loved!
