AW18 Coats | Best on the Highstreet

H&M £69.00, H&M £79.99, Primark £35.00, Zara £89.99, Primark £30.00
I personally feel you can never have too many winter coats. In fact, no matter how big a collection you can afford, there will always be an outfit that 'could just use a new coat'. I've hand picked five of my favourite coats this season that will add a stylish layer to any AW outfit. I think you can choose two routes with a winter coat, either keep it classy and timeless or allow it to be the statement of your outfit- either way the addition of a winter coat can really boost your style (whilst keeping you nice and toasty).

Both the Primark coats in my line up are a great example of keeping it classy. Starting with the one closest to the left, this timeless check coat will compliment both casual and formal winter outfits and would look charming with a nice scarf, hat and pair of gloves. The second Primark coat is classic in colour but more trend lead in style, the teddy bear coat has had a big revival in recent years and is both stylish and unbelievable snuggly! Paired with some biker boots, thick tights and a floral dress and this outfit will scream Autumn.

Both the H&M coats I've picked out are beautiful faux fur pieces. Starting from the left, this gorgeous leopard print is a very tasteful take on the animal print trend and will look lovely over any autumn outfit. I'd personally style it with a dark turtle neck, some light denim straight leg jeans, statement boots and coordinating hat scarf and gloves (possibly in a more shocking accent colour). The second H&M faux coat is a lot more of a statement with a striking angular pattern and a unique colour palette. Although it would tie you down colour wise, I don't think it strays too far away from a traditional autumn colour palette meaning that it should still be easy too style regularly (which is something you should take into consideration when purchasing your winter coat!). I think it would be appropriate for casual and formal situations and would stand out amongst traditional fur coats.

Last but not least, the most expensive coat on the list is from Zara. It features a tiger print pattern in a dulled down colour palette that is both tasteful and fun. Like the other coats it would be simple to style in an AW wardrobe and is both smart and casual. This coat is trend lead using animal print as a focal point which is something to take into consideration, as it may not be a stylish in a few years time. However, if that doesn't concern you, it is a truly beautiful coat that won't just finish your outfit, it will make it!

That's it for winter coats, if you're wondering where the jackets are, a separate post is on its way soon! If you enjoyed reading this post please follow me on bloglovin and check out my twitter @ alicerhodesblog for updates on when I've posted.
