Do you have that outfit which you feel amazing in and re-wear ALL. THE. TIME. This is that outfit. Actually, it's one of many. It just makes me feel confident. It makes a statement, attracts attention and ,if I say so myself, looks cute af. 

The seventies is an era that's always drawn me in, intrigued me and impressed me. Everything was so out there. Glam rock was in its prime pumping out artist like Bowie and T.Rex (both who I listen to on a daily basis), the musicians outrageous style was influencing fashion, fashion was influencing interiors and everything was changing, moving forward. So, given my love and admiration for seventies pop culture, I'm naturally drawn to an earthy colour pallet, garish floral prints and velvet wedges. Don't even get me started on flares. This outfit subtly nods to my favourite decade (actually it sort of screams seventies) and so I love it. 

Starting with the top, this off the shoulder, flared sleeved masterpiece is from New Look and I got it on sale at around £15.00. It's really well made, looks beautiful on and is extremely versatile; dressed up or down, this top will not disappoint. Next, the trousers. They have been one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe for a few years now, I got them in Topshop and I have never looked back- they're flawless. The combination of wide leg trousers and flared sleeves was even daunting for me, but, now that I've tried it I will never go back! When I put the top and trousers together they look so chic, more designer than high street. Paired with blue velvet chunky heels and a vintage scarf around your neck, you've got the ultimate nod to the seventies.

It's another lonely valentines day for me this year. But that doesn't mean I can't dress to impress on this, for single people, brutal day. Obviously, red is the go to colour for this occasion so I've gone fore a red/pink colour scheme for my look. 

Starting with the top, this cute see-through piece is from H&M. It's pink, polka-dotty and frilly. Everything you could ever want in a top. I've picked out a see through piece because it's a little bit more cheeky, I always feel a little bad ass and more confident when I push the clothing 'rules'. You could pick out a see through top in loads of colours and styles to match your taste (I'm aware my top is very out there). If you haven't tried the see through trend yet- do it! You don't know until you try. The skirt is from Primark, I've talked about it a lot in other posts so I'm just going to say: IT'S SO CUTE.

Time for accessories! I didn't want to wear black tights as I thought it would take away from the colours in my look. However, it's still cold outside so I put on some skin coloured tights and I have to say, they made my legs look lovely and shiny. Then I popped on some sparkly grey socks from Primark which are really good quality- the shine is unreal! In my hair I wore an M&S scarf which has white and red stars all over it. For makeup I wore glowy skin makeup which made me look healthy and a nice red lip to match the rest of my outfit! If I were to go out on this look say a nice meal out, I would wear my leopard print coat as it's very glam and sophisticated and my baby pink wedge high heals from Topshop. 

So that's what I'd wear this valentines day. If I had a date.... *sigh*. I hope you got some inspiration for your date night look with your valentine. The Vogue trends section is a godsent. I like to wear the occasional trend but I often find they don't fit into my personal style and they come from Instagram rather than the catwalk, so when there's a trend that truly originated from the catwalk, I. Love. It. For example, Kitten Heals are a big trend at the moment and everyone is doing them! Windbreakers however, are slightly different. They made their comeback through apps such as Depop, thrifting and the 80's/90's revival. Interestingly, they've made it onto the catwalk now with designers such as Valentino, NO 21 and Anya Hindmarch all jumping on the bandwagon. 

Whilst doing a spot of thrifting myself I came across this gorgeous pastel windbreaker. It's bright, fun and exactly what this tend is all about. If you're as obsessed with this windbreaker as I am you're in luck because it's up for sale on my Depop for £25 which is a total bargain compared to the ones you're going to start seeing in the stores! Three things I've noticed about styling this trend include:

1. Keep it zipped. Wear it more as a dress than a coat, obviously have something underneath but when out and about, keep that zip right to the top. Allow it to take over your figure rather than being tight to your curves. For best effect pick a more oversized coat.

2.Show some skin! Keep anything under the windbreaker short or, if you aren't as comfortable with your legs out, go for a see-through/tulle midi skirt. This adds a more sophisticated and elegant edge to the glorified raincoat. You could wear it with jeans but it would be a lot more casual.

3. Let the windbreaker do the talking. Don't over-do it with accessories, keep them in a similar colour palette and choose dainty pieces such as kitten heals to contrast the bulky coat.

I have to be honest, scrolling through the Topshop lingerie section I felt slightly let down. It was all very safe and generic. There was nothing that stood out to me or shouted out as 'the piece'. However, going through the sale section I did find two pieces that had some interesting designs.

Urban Outfitters do everything right but their lingerie section is just perfection. Whether you're looking for a comfy CK sports bra or a lacy bralette, they'll have the best option. The only downside to their gorgeous pieces is the price!
